Coble owes her eye-catching hull shape to the beach boats of northern Britain. Curves which make her comfortable and dry in a sea-way, with some down-to-earth advantages too, like the twin skegs aft for grounding safely upright.
She has an elegant, shapely, seaworthy hull in which the simple spaciousness of the cockpit might surprise - room enough for four or five adults - and their sailing gear, in the capacious aft locker.
The rig of standing lug mainsail and flying jib has all the traditional virtues too. Excellent performance through a wide range of wind strengths. Easily controlled sail shortening, even to mainsail alone with the two-position mast-step.
The safety and convenience of short spars - easy to stow - and a loose-footed boomless mainsail that's kind to the heads of the crew. Responsive under power,
